In A.D.1961 reiste (der inzwischen verschiedene) Vater-Ernst Schma1enbach-Juncker mit mir, damals Berthold (6-jährig) genannt, nach Hamburg, dort wo wir kein Hotel sondern eine leerstehende Wohnung finden wollten. – Es ist bekannt gewesen, daß die politische Landschaft gerade mit dem Wahlergebnis abgeschlossen hatte. – Der schwarze Opel Kapitän wurde nicht bis an die Ostsee gesteuert, sondern am Straßenrand abgestellt und gesichert.
Nach wenigen Wochen hatte Mama-Erika Schma1enbach-Balkhausen genug von dieser Art des Urlaubs und fuhr mit dem schwarzen Fahrzeug und dem Wickelkind, dem Hänschen, zurück nach Köln.
Damals ist es noch üblich gewesen durch Briefkontakt die Angelegenheiten des Lebens zu klären. Ein Ende des Urlaubs von Fam. Balkhausen ist nun erreicht. Auch hatte man eine Urkunde zur Verbindung Balkhausen-Jenny als Bedingung der Familienpflege verstanden und die Gebäude in Köln, Annostraße 45, die vom Urgroßvater errichtet worden waren, in selbiger Urkunde wohlwollend erwähnt.
Dem Vermieter hatte einen Vertrag mit Hrn. Liebermann wegen Finanzierung im sozialen Wohnungsbau begonnen, nachdem wir erklärt hatten, dass es nötig wäre eine
Renovierung mit eigenen Händen vorzunehmen. Wir wurden in der Suche fündig im Stadtteil Altona. Mit Segen-Spruch und prophetischen Worten konnte Berthold (6-jährig) in diesen Tagen Erstaunen und Kopfschütteln zugleich hervorrufen. Der Papa-Ernst hatte eine Anstellung bei der deutschen Bahn (Aufenthalt nahe an den Bahngeleisen) und legte abends die Uniform ab um Heimwerker Qualitäten auszuführen.
Exkurs: Einsatz von Familienpfleger|in
Der Familienpfleger Beruf (engl. Nanny) wird von den kindlichen Personen deshalb hoch eingeschätzt, weil „die Nanny“ eine Brücke zwischen der Vorwelt und der Reife in die Erziehung einfliessen läßt. Es ist nicht verwunderlich, daß die Eltern in dieser Hinsicht kaum Gespür aufweisen und die Bildung der Ewigkeit als generische Abwicklung verstehen. Der Einsatz eines Familienpflegers ist recht kostspielig, weshalb Jahre gerne mit Monaten der Unterkunft/Bezahlung verwechselt werden, indem alle möglichen Vergünstigungen in den Vertrag aufgenommen werden. Dennoch, es ist unabdingbar einige Zeit zu investieren und auch oft zu verhandeln – wie die unterschiedlichen Zeiten zueinander gefügt werden sollen.

Sehr bald stellte er fest, dass ohne eine Haushälterin eine Ersatzmutter fehlte, (denn ein endgültiger Umzug war schier unmöglich geworden durch die Abreise von Mama-Erika), und dieser Zusammenhang nicht zu bewältigen gewesen war und daher stellte er eine junge Dame zum Kochen und Tapezieren gleichermaßen ein. Auf Matratzen und Schlafsäcken zu leben ist mir nicht in negativer Erinnerung, jedoch hatten die Erwachsenen nicht so ganz das Gefühl einen verlängerten Urlaub zu verleben. Der Papa-Ernst sollte bei der Bahn ohne Lohnausgleich arbeiten, aber erhielt dagegen Naturalien, ist in diesen Tagen eine kindliche Vorstellung gewesen. Unsere Haushälterin Fr. Hamel hatte eine eigene Wohnung in der Stadt
und besuchte uns fast täglich auf einem Fußweg. Ich besann mich des Sternzeichen-Stier von Papa-Ernst und fand das auch ich etwas vom betrachtenden Gemüt (des Ochsen der Weihnacht) beibehalten hatte…
